How tuition works

No surprises: here is what sets tuition, what the extras are for, and where to find our figures.

  • What sets tuition

What a dancer pays depends on the class length, the age group, how many classes a week they take and whether they come on a pass or for the whole session. Our figures are on the registration page, and we are glad to talk them through by phone.

    • Class length

    • Age group and level

    • Classes a week

    • A pass or a session

  • Registration

A registration covers the studio's file for your dancer, the studio's insurance and a place in our parent portal. It is due when you sign up for your first session.

  • Billing

Session tuition is billed monthly by autopay through our parent portal, or once for the whole session. An open-class pass is billed monthly and renews until you tell us to stop.

  • Siblings

A second dancer from the same family is handled differently from the first. Ask when you register, and we will tell you how.

  • Missed classes and make-ups

A missed class can be made up in another class at the same level and age group during the same session. Book it at the front desk or by text. An open-class visit does not carry into the next month.

  • Uniforms, costumes and other costs

A few extras exist, and none of them is a surprise. There are no costumes: dancers wear their own clothes and clean sneakers. Showcase night in May has a production charge for each dancer, and guests need tickets. The youth crew has a crew shirt and, some seasons, jams around the Bay, where entry and travel are the family's and are planned together before anyone signs up.

    • No costumes, and no costume sizes

    • Showcase night: a production charge for each dancer, tickets for guests

    • Crew shirt, and jam entry and travel, planned with families first

  • Withdrawing

We ask for a month's notice before a dancer leaves a session, so we can offer the place to someone on the waitlist. An open-class pass can be stopped with a week's notice.
